What is a Green Product? Early attempts to identify green products focused on the development of eco-labels. Products and the processes used to manufacture them consume energy, utilizing non-renewable and renewable materials, and generating emissions.  In creating designs, product designers are continually forced to make decisions that involve trade-offs between multiple environmental impacts. In 2007, Jou Young first introduced POE (Poly-Olefin Elastomer) material for a new product line. POE is a type of material that is nontoxic, odorless, flavorless. The main feature of POE in production is that the products are single process forming, and it is not necessary to use mesh fiber for the mats. This will reduce the defeat of production and improve the quality. The colored and lined designs for mats are also available.

POE can be widely used and it is especially good for yoga practice. Yoga sessions involves a series of movements and postures on top of yoga mat, which is generally placed on a hard surface. The mat provides protection and increases comfort for the user. A good yoga mat will also offer impact resistance for occasions when a posture is just a little difficult, warmth retention, and a non-slip surface. Therefore, the factors for choosing a good yoga mat involve different perspectives, such as firmness and thickness and wetting a small section of the mat to stimulate sweat, to test anti-slip functionality.
